![]() I’d like to touch on another aspect of this Accutac Barrel and that is safety. I’m sure there are a slew of people that can really dig into all of that, but you get the jest of it in simple terms. ![]() Its much harder for that broad head to steer the arrow and allowing the vanes to do their job. By the enclosed barrel reducing that the flexing of the arrow, it’s much more stable leaving the bow. That leads to that head scratching frustration of broad heads not always impacting where Field Points do. Huh? I’m sure you’ve seen those slow motion videos of arrows leaving a bow flexing like crazy. What does that do? In theory in greatly reduces and even eliminates Archers Paradox. What is that you say? It’s a fully enclosed barrel exclusively to the Swat series. Killer Instinct is touting superior accuracy due to the Accutac Barrel. To me, rope cocking this bow feels a lot like cocking a Mission Sub-1. That’s why you now have the ability to rope cock a 405fps bow and keep the boys intact at the same time. What does that mean? Should the cables stretch, and all cables do, the bows ATA might lengthen but the cams stay timed. The cams themselves are slaved together so they won’t have to fight timing issues. Let’s discuss those very nice X Cam that allows for that easy cocking. I only see that as an issue for shorter archers. That gives you a little longer rope and therefore your hands come up a little higher. Don’t ask me how I know this! Because the design of the bow, the rope itself fits into a groove on the rear of the stock. You give those handles a good yank without paying attention and you’ll be bouncing your knuckles off of that enclosed barrel. The reason for this is that very desirable narrow design. When it comes to using the rope cocker, you need a few cycles to get it down. You can also leave the crank attached to the bow when shooting because it mounts to the very back of the stock. The very positive things about this crank are the size and weight. There are more advanced cranks on the market but they do the same thing. It aids you in cranking the bow back should you need it. The Compact Crank is in it’s simplest form. There are a couple of things to keep in mind with the cocking options. I only used the Crank a couple of times just to say I did. Trust me, there is no other 400fps+ bow on the market that the average person can fully cock with a rope cocker. Yes, you can actually hand cock this small, narrow crossbow that achieves its speed rating of 405fps. The one thing that should really stand out to you is the Quik-Draw Rope Cocker. So let’s use the terminology that links us together. We should be doing everything within our power to remove the negative crossbow stigma that some of the non-horizontal believers have. By the way, Killer Instinct calls their arrows HYPR-Bolts. If I had a critique it would be three arrows aren’t enough. This is obviously more than enough to get you in woods and hunting. Before we dig into the X1, here’s everything included in the Elite Package I received: The second, it may be small but its not a feather weight. The first and obvious thing, this bow is small. A few things caught my attention as soon as I got the bow in my hands. When the bow arrived, I was looking forward to seeing in person how Killer Instinct ramped up their Swat series with their X1. Or could I be wrong? Here are the bow specs: Surely, this couldn’t be much different than the XP. I had already spent time with last year’s Swat XP. ![]() I just knew what to expect from Killer Instinct when I found out I was going to receive a Swat X1 to review. ![]()
